I was so excited when I first saw the Fenty Beauty Collection online. It was released when I was on holiday in Greece & I actually placed my order whilst I was on the beach! I ordered four of the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighting Powders & two of the Match Stix – one matte, one shimmer. Although I love everything that I have, the highlighting duo in Lightning Dust and Fire Crystal has to be my absolute favourite.
The packaging of the Killawatt Highlighting Powders is something that makes it stand out from others in my collection. The white plastic casing contains a very fine but pretty shimmer that sparkles in the sunlight. It also includes a mirror – something that I love. I was a little worried that the white casing would become dirty and bashed when left in my makeup bag, but this has not been the case. It is extremely sturdy and still looks as good as new.
The compact contains two highlighting shades, Lightning Dust and Fire Crystal.
Lightning Dust is described by Fenty as having a soft, pearlescent sheen. The pearl finish leaves a pretty glow to the skin, without making it look like I am wearing too much makeup. Lightning Dust is a light, beige shade with soft pink undertones that looks beautiful on pale skin. It is a natural highlighting shade that is perfect for everyday makeup.
Fire Crystal has to be more favourite out of the two shades. It is a warm-toned, light golden highlighting powder that is described by Fenty as having a supercharged pearlescent shimmer. The metallic finish looks absolutely beautiful on the skin and does not emphasise any texture on the skin – something I was worried about at first. The powder feels very creamy when applied to the skin and there are no chunky pieces of shimmer or glitter.
Fenty state that the Killawatt Highlighters can be used on your face, eyes, lips & collarbones – literally anywhere. I have used both shades on my eyes and found that they wore beautifully. The shades in this compact help to brighten your eyes and just look very pretty.
The Killawatt Freestyle Highlighters are available from Harvey Nichols for £26. I was a little put off by the price at first, however, the quality of the powders really impressed me and I now own 3 of the shades. Although more expensive than many of the highlighters I own, I definitely feel that they are worth the price tag and if more were released, I would happily buy them.
