Blush is something that I find essential in my everyday makeup routine. I am very pale and sometimes find that my skin can look quite flat and ‘dead’ after applying my foundation and concealer. Applying blush is something that helps add life back into my skin and makes me look more put together. So, when I saw the Blush Crush range by Lottie London in my local Superdrug store, I was instantly drawn to them.
I found it really hard to choose between the six shades on offer. I originally bought two shades and then ending up returning to purchase another a few days later. Out of the three Blush Crush shades that I own (Drake, Justin & Zayn), Drake definitely stands out as my favourite and that one that I have used most.
Drake is a beautiful soft peach shade with slight pink undertones. I find to be very flatting on my pale skin. It is nicely pigmented and blends well. There are no large chunks of shimmer in the blush, but it does leave a beautiful sheen when applied, leaving your skin looking very fresh. I have found that I get around 6-7 hours of wear time from the Blush Crushes – something that I am really impressed with as they are so inexpensive. I would definitely compare them to some of my higher end blushes!
I really like the packaging of the Blush Crushes. The plastic compact comes complete with a mirror, something that I love in face products. It feels sturdy and protects the powder well – I take this in my work makeup bag and my powder has not broken. Something else that I really like is that the colour of the plastic casing relates to the shade of the blush inside. I find this to be really helpful as it means that I do not have to open each compact that I own to find the shade that I want.
The Blush Crushes by Lottie London have impressed me massively and for just £4.95, I can definitely see myself trying more of the shades that Lottie London have to offer. I would also recommend trying their Powder Highlighting Quads. They too are inexpensive and contact four highlighting shades, all of which are very pretty!
