Pixi is without a doubt my favourite skincare brand. I am obsessed with their Glow Tonic rang and have recently fallen in love with their Hydrating Milky Peel. I have not been disappointed by anything I have tried from the brand so far, so I was very excited when I saw the Glitter-y Eye Quads online. I love using glitter, but find it to be so, so messy. I am very clumsy, so dread using loose glitters – no matter how pretty it looks! So, I was very happy to see a pressed glitter palette – all of the pretty, none of the mess!
The Glitter-y Eye Quads contain 4 different pressed glitters. Pixi has 3 palettes to choose from, but I was instantly drawn to RoseBronze. The shades are as the palette name suggests, pretty, bronzey, rosy shades. All 4 are gorgeous but the bottom right is my favourite – a beautiful lilac with multicoloured glitter. I love it!
I was a little worried at first that the shades may be more of a clear, cream eyeshadow, with a few specks of glitter thrown in… however, I can confirm that these are some of the most opaque pressed glitters that I have tried. I have found they apply best by tapping the product onto the eyelid using your fingertips. A little goes a long way but you can build up the intensity depending on the look you are going for.
I expected more of a waxy/oily texture to the product, but they have a stiff consistency in the pan, feeling almost like dry glitter. When applied, the pressed glitters do not flake or crease, and once they dry/set, it does not budge all day. I have used the Glitter-y Eye Quads in two different ways – tapped on top of a powder eyeshadow look or used alone on the lid. I find that the quad makes it very easy to transform a quick, simple eye look to something more pretty and special without much effort at all. I am obsessed!
The packaging of the Glitter-y Eye Quads is simple but effective. It protects the pressed glitters well and is not too bulky. I would it to include a mirror as it would be the perfect size, but I feel like that is just me being greedy! For just £14 you get four beautiful shades that will last you a long time. I have been using the palette for the past 2 months and am yet to hit pan on any of the shades.
Have you tried the Pixi Glitter-y Eye Quads? What did you think?
